Before my "sabbatical" from blogging I was posting a series of photos from our time in Albania. Now that I'm back I would be remiss not to continue that series.
Shopping in Albania gave a whole new meaning to "fresh"!
We could have bought this turkey for Christmas, but chose a frozen one from Italy instead. In Albania New Years is the big holiday. In the months leading up to New Years you can actually buy a live turkey and a neighbor will keep it for you and feed it until you are ready to kill it and eat it! Have you found your turkey sitter yet?!?

morning ,
cool blog,
came over from Lacoochee kid,
Dude. Nice turkey.
Welcome back! Somewhere in my files, I have a picture of a library in Honduras with a chicken nesting in the shelves....
Thanks for your comment on my site, I really like your site too, it makes me want to visit Albania as well.
What a turkey! Good to hear from you, Charley. Looking forward to more.
Hi, Charlie,
I've been slow to getting around. Thanks for coming by my blog. As for the verse of the day, if you click on the Bible Gateway under the verse, I believe you'll find the instructions for putting it on your blog.
I'm glad to see that you're posting again. I look forward to your photos of Albania.
I hadn't read your post. When I lived in Haiti, we bought a turkey and had one of the ladies who worked for us "fatten him up." We gave her money for food. When he came back to us, he was more lean than before he started. She had used the money to feed her family, and we could not really fault her.
I see you have the Bible Gateway link. After you get the code, go to your blogger dashboard and you can add it to your sidebar.
Great turkey photos! Turkeys are neat creatures.
My mother would have loved that idea---the "fresh" turkey! But, I'll take the frozen "Butterball" variety, thank you! ;-)
Hope your family has a BLESSED Thanksgiving! You'll be on our list of blessings/thanksgivings.

I don't know if you are still around or not. But if you are, you might enjoy looking at some my recent posts from a trip to Chile in January.
